  • Project Details
The Nightingale Film: A young woman struggles with the aftermath of being raped. Created by Robbi Stevens, The Nightingale film uncovers Grace’s painful journey through PTSD after sexual assault. Like many survivors, she finds herself alone, surrounded by silence. The World Health Organisation states that one in three women in the UK, have experienced sexual violence and it is the least reported crime. Of those reported, only one in thirty assaults end up in court and prosecutions are falling. Rape and sexual assault is today's shadow pandemic, lurking in the fabric of our society. It is ignored, maybe even accepted and our film aims to incite action in our community. About the writer, director and producer: Robbi Stevens is an award winning writer, producer, director and humanitarian. At the heart of all her creative projects lies a humanitarian spirit and ethos. She works mainly in London and is particularly interested in using theatre and film to incite change on issues of equality. She also works towards artistic excellence and creative freedom and expression with cast, creatives and the community. Outside of the performing arts, Robbi aims to remove the stigma attached to homelessness and sexual exploitation. Alongside and within the plays and film’s she produces, Robbi finds opportunities for those who are discriminated against. The film is fully funded and will be produced in association with RAaW London and Rustic Spirit. We will be submitting The Nightingale to both film festivals and humanitarian festivals. Please apply with your cover letter, showreel and headshot.
