Queer visual and performance artist Edward Thomasson invites applications from trained and untrained performers to join his latest research process about sex, theatre and other social interactions.

In three day-long workshops dance, song, role-play and conversation will be used to investigate the ways shame gets trapped in the body and plays out in social and sexual interactions. The workshops will support Edward’s enquiries into how collaborative performance-making might be used as a social technology to explore our fears of opening up to someone else, and the dominant social standards that reinforce them.



Emphasis will be placed on the collaborative building of an open and caring creative environment for each other.

Edward is looking to gather a diverse group of performers (diverse in terms of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, abilities and disabilities, professional performance experience) who are interested in taking part in 3 workshops.



No previous performance experience is required, but do please mention in your application if you have any singing, dance and performance experience or are musical.
