In the role of Junior Technical Animator, you are responsible for ensuring that all animation happens with ease. You’ll be solving technical challenges in creating animation for games. You will be involved in developing our motion pipeline, from creating custom rigs, optimising workflows with scripts, and writing custom tools to help the animators workflow.Within this role you will:Demonstrate a practical knowledge of the character rigging and skinning process.Work with Animation Direction to achieve solid and intuitive tools for the animation team.Show an understanding of the fundamental principles of animation and how we achieve those through rigging techniques.Collaborate during the character creation process, from concept to modelling to final rigging, identifying character performance and functionality requirements.Demonstrate an understanding of the pipelines and procedures used within the projects as a whole.We need you to have:A willingness to learn, a passion for problem solving and a collaborative approach to both.A demo reel that shows solid rigging and skinning skills, some understanding of anatomy for deformation and the desire to build scripts/tools to help empower animation teams.Solid knowledge of Maya with emphasis on its rigging tool set, experience with Motionbuilder is a plus.A good understanding of Python in Maya, with a willingness to learn more.
