‘WHARE GHAISTS AND HOULETS NIGHTLY CRY’‘Tam O’ Shanter and Other Tales’ is a comic celebration of the ‘Gothic’ poems of Robert Burns. We'll be performing ‘Tam O’ Shanter’, ‘Death and Dr Hornbook’ and ‘Address to the Deil’. We’ll also be telling comic versions of the Scottish folk tales ‘The Witch of Fife’ and ‘The Haunted Ships’.And we'll have a band playing 5 or 6 Burns songs for us.So it will be a mixture of performance poetry, storytelling, and live music. Initially, just for 3 nights in Assembly Roxy, but we do have future plans for the show. For both the poetry and the storytelling, we are looking for a comic actress, aged between 25 and 45. Ideally, but not necessarily, with some experience of performing Burns.
