    JOB TITLE:ASSISTANT EDITOR full timeDEPARTMENT / TEAM: REPORTING TO:Audio Visual (AV) – ATL HEAD EDITORTEAM OVERVIEWMain purpose of position: To assist Editors with daily running of the Edit suites, including -setting up new edit projects on the Work Area, ingesting, QC and prepping any materials toensure Edit can continue smoothly. Project maintenance – for example ensuring all filingsystems are adhered to and kept up to date – responsible for archiving, naming conventionsand ensuring all workflow process standards are followed.Trouble shooting/flagging any technical issues to editors.Taking initiative in down time to learn /practice the creative aspect of editing in terms of shotdecisions/selection, music choices and music editing, motion graphics design andintegration into edits.Key Accountabilities: To assist Edit staff as detailed above. When needed/ scene selection and logging of scenes and shots, maintaining anagreed structure for ease of use in Editorial. To keep up to date with the latest and most efficient file formats Carry out routine operations such as Technical and Legal QC of assets, Conforms,File exports. Prepping files and supplying encodes to UK Broadcast specification viaeither IMD or Clearcast. Acute attention to detail highly important. Knowledge of AV legal clearance bodies rules and regulations; Clearcast, RACC,BBFC, HARDING FPA and CAA Prepping files and supplying encodes for cinema transmission Prepping files and supplying encodes to any digital partners – You Tube, Facebook,Videology etc. Prepping files and supplying encodes to Studio specific Asset sites for local andInternational distribution (e.g. UIG). Acute attention to detail highly important. Understanding the workflow with external AV suppliers such as professional SoundStudios, 3D Motion Graphic animators, camera operators/DOPs etc. Organisational skills – responsible for adhering to file management and back-upworkflows and processes. Housekeeping; making sure assets are in the correct place and archiving of closedprojects in timely fashion. Guide freelance Editors on how workflow and media ismanaged. Helping Editors with music searches when needed. Liaising with the Studio to ensure artwork files are supplied correctly (RGB, simplifiedlayers, correct aspect ratios etc.), QCing artwork assets that come in for the editorsand pushing them back to the Creative Studio if supplied incorrectly. Confident on working on multiple projects at the same time also able to work with tightdeadline. When needed, helping Editors with localisations and versioningEssential DesirableSkills: Adobe Premiere After EffectsAttention to detail is a must.Relevant Experience:At least 1 years’ experience working as anAssistant Editor ideally in the Theatrical orHome Entertainment industry; workinginternally alongside Editors, SoundEngineers, Motion Graphics Designers,Account Directors/Managers.At least 1 year experience working with AVfreelancers and external AV suppliers suchPost-Production facilities.Job related knowledge: Knowledge of the AV productionprocess across all disciplines of AVfrom pre to post-production throughto delivery and transmission. Knowledge and understanding of therequirements of a ‘localization’,‘adaptation’ and ‘origination’production processes. Clearcast legal clearance rules andregulations Technical knowledge – Footage;(SD/HD/frame rates/aspectratios/compressions/Harding/videolevels/texted & textless/digitaldelivery specifications/integration ofmotion GFX) Technical knowledge – Audio;(Stereo/5.1/splits/stems/OMF/AAFdelivery/broadcast specificationse.g.: mutes and levels Good knowledge of social media layoutsand delivery requirements Technical understanding of frame rateconversionSkills: PhotoshopRelevant Experience:Have a knowledge of the specificdeliverables required for broadcast in theboth the UK and International.VT experience. Comfortable working on Mac and PC Excellent organization skillsKey interface Qualification requirements:Internal:OUAT AV TeamOUAT Creative StudioOUAT Account TeamOUAT Digital TeamExternal:AV freelancersPost-Production facilitiesProduction Music LibrariesIMD and Clearcast technical/QC teamsN/AHealth & Safety responsibilities:Also refer to your Contract of Employment.
