Lewisham-based not for profit theatre company Spontaneous Productions is seeking two visionary artists for its exciting musical theatre Climate Change project ‘END OF’ to be staged outdoors in Mayow Park, Sydenham in Spring 2022, as part of Lewisham's Borough of Culture 2022.We have funding for one new role: A scenic designer/production designerThere are two aspects to the roles; firstly, you will be facilitating workshops within Primary Schools for children aged between 7 and 11 years old, so you must have demonstrable facilitation skills including being able to plan sessions and work creatively and responsively. The workshops will be based around climate change, with the aim of harnessing the children’s creativity in order to generate and develop ideas for the staged performance in Spring 2022The second part of the role will be a writing/design period helping to further develop the final version of ‘END OF’ with the Producer.Negotiable fees will cover both workshops (up to 5 in Lewisham primary schools) and writing/design periods.Candidates must have up-to-date DBS-checks, or be willing to undertake them and have experience of facilitating workshops with young children. Locally-based artists and those from a BAME background are especially welcome to apply.
