I’ll Find You By The Sea is a 15 minute short-film taking place in a hyper-stylized, cold dark city, following cloth-like creatures who are sent to a factory to have their bodies turned into wool once they die. Our main protagonist, a red creature called Tero, works at this mortuary-factory and leads a lonely, monotonous life. One night Tero meets another cloth creature called Mari, who is blue, in a peculiarly placed sitting room in the middle of a street and suddenly life becomes a lot more exciting, and a lot less lonely for Tero.A hyper stylized world where cloth like creatures, who are somewhat mute, live in a cold, dark city where once they die their bodies are sent to a factory to be made into wool. Our protagonist TERO, a shy cloth like creature with a red knitted outside, works at the factory and like everyone else in the city leads a very lonely life. One night TERO stumbles across a blue sitting room strangely placed in the middle of the street by a bus stop. Another cloth creature called, MARI, who has a blue knitted exterior, placed it there. We find out that MARI places ‘rooms’ like this all over the city in hopes to remind people that they are not alone.  TERO is entranced by this and by MARI and they soon fall in love as TERO helps MARI finish the sitting room by the bus stop and a bedroom in a parking lot. MARI reveals their plans to run away from here and go to the sea, a dream based of a postcard they found in the trash that has a seaside view and the words, ‘I’ll find you by the sea,’ illustrated on top of it. TERO panics as they know no one to ever leave here safety and tries to make MARI feel more at home in this strange place they live by decorating their flat to mimic the sea.  However MARI shows TERO a hole in a barbed wire fence and explains their plans to escape. TERO thinks it’s too dangerous which is highlighted when MARI rips their hand on the barbed wire fence. TERO tells MARI not to come back here without them and tries to once again make MARI feel more at home by decorating the flat to mimic the sky. But MARI doesn’t come home one night and TERO begins to worry. When TERO goes to work the next day they finds MARI’s lifeless body, without any of its stuffing, hanging in the factory.  TERO is distraught and can no longer work in the factory. They are completely alone again and long for MARI more than anything else. TERO submerges himself in all the blue MARI left behind till they remerge and realise that they must try to make their way to the sea for MARI’s sake. On the way to the fence TERO finds a blue ‘room’ which MARI has left. It looks like a blue sitting room with a photo frame on a small table that has the postcard of the seaside with the writing ‘I’ll find you by the sea,’ written on top of it, there is also a drawing of MARI and TERO on the beach. TERO says goodbye to this last part of MARI and walks towards the fence. Attachments:
