    Are you interested in supporting SEN children in school settings? South East London (London Borough of Southwark)I am actively looking for actors and actresses who are interested in working with children and young people with special needs. The successful actors and actresses will be working in our SEN schools and will provide 1:1 and small group support in classroom settings. I can provide flexible days’ work if required.Once you are fully compliant for work, you will be contacted in the morning at any time between 7am and 8am for work on the day, and you need to be ready to go to school. Flexibility is a must as you will be required to work in all types of SEN schools in London Borough of Southwark. Experience working with SEN children and young people or having personal experience with SEN is ideal.Key Information: Flexible Days' Work Available; Can choose to work daily or full-time (term-time only)Working Hours: 8:30am - 4pm; Monday to Friday Working as a SEN Learning Support Assistant / SEN Classroom Support Assistant / SEN Teaching AssistantSupporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) such as Autism/ASD, ADHD, Aspergers, Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)Working in SEN schoolsSouth East LondonProactively engaging and interacting with children in a classroom settingProviding and engaging in sensory and play-based activities and creative learning environmentsDaily rate (£70 - £85); weekly paymentIdeal Candidate:Has experience working with TIE or workshops with children Has experience supporting children or people with Special Educational Needs Has personal interests in supporting children with Special Educational Needs A positive and proactive individual who has a can-do attitude and is willing to learnA team player and able to build up good working relationships with students and staffMain Duties: You will support students with Autism/ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder), Speech and Language Communication Needs (SLCN), Specific Learning Difficulties, complex needs, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), or Severe to Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties (SLD/PMLD). Some of the students are non-verbal and with such a wide range of learning difficulties, and students are supported by a multidisciplinary team including Physiotherapists, Art therapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists. Some students will have physical disabilities and are wheelchair users.Being able to use Makaton (sign language) or PECs will be ideal. You will also assess individual learning needs and work on a small group basis. Personal Care (feeding and toileting) will be required as well.Requirements: Available during school hours (8:30am until 4pm) Flexible to travel within an hour by public transport or carHave recent experience and a genuine passion for working with SEN pupils Must hold a current enhanced DBS on update serviceAble to provide 2 professional references covering the last 2 years Must have right to work in the UKEngage Education is an award-winning education recruitment company with many opportunities for SEN Special School Support Assistants to work on a day-to-day basis or for those looking for long-term positions.
