The successful candidate will provide leadership and management of the engineering team along with responsibility for the quality and performance of technical support within the business.Key AccountabilitiesProvide leadership of the Engineering TeamTeam building and morale, career development, and succession planning of the Engineering TeamEnsure satisfactory staff and freelance rostering and cover at all times.Engage with the senior management team in setting the strategic direction for broadcast technology within IMG Studios, including recommendations for systems and equipment purchasesDefine and maintain the CapEx budget and to fully communicate with Finance in order to ensure clear visibility of project status, payment schedules and terms of any financial commitments.Maintenance of the Asset Register including, proactively ensuring all new equipment (project-related or not) is reflected in the list.Purchase ordering and correct invoicing of engineering-related costs and budget. Ensuring strict cost controls and monitoring best practice as defined in the IMG Code of Conduct.Facilitating the training and development of knowledge and experience within the Engineering Team on any new equipment and software to ensure a consistent quality of on-going support.Ownership of the monitoring and compliance of Health and Safety across the Engineering team and with any visiting contractors, organisations or individuals.Maintain a full inventory of all technical support contracts including negotiation at time of purchase and renewal. This includes defining IMG Studios Support contract policy and type of equipment under current support.To manage, help negotiate and define SLA’s offered by IMG in support of any technical services including any consequential reporting or set up of monitoring systems.Required Skills & ExperiencePrevious significant managerial experience of engineering or technical teams in a live broadcast environment.Comprehensive and extensive knowledge of broadcast technology both current and in development, including I.P. based systems.Demonstrated established relationships with clients at all levels.Superior team management experience.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;Ability to keep calm and react positively in a pressured environment whilst understanding the urgency of a technical challenge;Organise and motivate teams to provide creative solutions to technical challenges.Communicate clearly and effectively with management and stakeholders when addressing support issues, giving advice and explaining solutions.Contract management & negotiation experienceWorking ConditionsThis is a full-time job and will be based at Stockley Business Park, in Uxbridge.Working hours are on average 40 hours per weekIt is anticipated that this will be a 40 hour, 5-day week role, but this role may demand extended periods at work at certain times.Attending late night or weekend instances with unsociable hours for technology migration or other works/events relating to this area of responsibility.
