To keep pace with our rate of change and growing size, we want to make sure that we are attracting and developing talented people, training them and providing opportunities to make our team as diverse as possible.This is an exciting new hybrid role working across all our teams in 4Studio, with our 4Skills team and with our Learning and Development team. You’ll be responsible for organising a number of initiatives designed to make sure we have the best people working for, and with, 4Studio and we’re keeping on top of their needs and maintaining 4Studio’s profile across the industry in general.The Talent Development Executive will be the point person for 4Studio across a number of channel- and department-wide schemes including how 4Studio implements the acceleration of our 4Skills diverse talent initiative, our bespoke 4Studio Academy training programme, how we work with other organisations around talent initiatives as well as our awards entry programme for the content we produce and commission. This is a role that requires stellar organisational and logistics skills but with the opportunity to grow your passion for talent development.This role is based in the Leeds office and the job holder will be required to liaise with the broad team on any given project across all Channel 4 departments stakeholders to ensure as coherent an approach as possible. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIRED SKILLSWorking with key representatives to  organise and administer 4Studio’s role in the 4Skills training programme, our entry level placement scheme for trainees from diverse backgrounds. This is a large part of the requirement and has many different facets through recruitment, project management and design, mentoring, event organisation, stakeholder management.Being a point person in 4Studio for at least two trainee schemes each year. Assigning mentors, organising logistics and working with partners.Providing reports across all talent initiatives.Running the 4Studio Academy training programme every month – organising training dates, booking internal training courses, logistics, obtaining feedback and suggesting ongoing improvements.Managing our awards entry calendar – including writing award entries and project managing awards submissions where relevant.Researching and recommending new talent both in front and behind the camera.You’ll also have a track record of working with diverse and exciting talent – and then inspiring them to be creative, innovative and ensure Channel 4 is industry-leading in its content creation.You’ll be intensely interested in personal and professional development and how best to achieve continuous development in a large and high-performing team.You will have experience working with creative teams and their particular development needs.Channel 4’s remit-fulfilling programmes will make up the bulk of your viewing – everything from Gogglebox to Dispatches via Hollyoaks and Derry Girls.You will be brilliant at logistics, organising and influencing to get the best possible outcomes for the team.You’ll probably have a string of contacts or ideas for people we can learn from in our speaker events.You’ll be great with admin and reporting.You won’t be fazed by workflow processes, data systems and deadlines.You will definitely have written a few awards entries – some winning ones too.Our talent are a diverse bunch and Channel 4 exists to promote diversity. Cool under pressure and excellent powers of persuasion are required.You’ll work in our Leeds HQ as part of the 4Studio team, and in partnership with multiple other stakeholders. Note we are currently working from home/50% in the office.ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCETechnical & Professional Skills Must have strong experience of organising training events and scheme logistics.Should have a demonstrable passion for diversity and inclusionImportant for the job holder to keep up to date with creative and digital / social media trends and influencers.Must have a thorough understanding of processes, workflows, tools and methodologies.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Experience of the administration around awards entries in the creative sectorShould be a quick learner and curious about new opportunities to develop the team.Experience of using productivity tools such as Monday or Trello is preferred.Autonomy/Judgement/Decision MakingShould be confident in making logistical decisions and communicating themMust be comfortable problem-solving for the team as/where needed. Works on broad variety of matters within the department – flexible approach Must be highly organised.Managing ResourcesAbility to find, negotiate with and manage local resource when required.Management and development of Digital/Social Producers, as well as fluctuating volumes of freelancers.Has budgetary control by ensuring that projects are correctly funded and managed independently.Will manage entire workflow from ideation through to final delivery.Relationship ManagementMust establish a close working relationship with Channel 4’s on-line / digital departments and suppliers, and be able to communicate with differing departments to meet differing demands.Must be willing to travel between Leeds to London occasionally, as and when required.Works regularly with a mixture of people from managers, immediate team, and third party suppliers.May involve contract negotiation with 3rd party suppliers of agencies and freelancers and is required to performance manage them accordinglyMust be collaborative in their approach.Must have excellent verbal and written communication.Complexity/Problem SolvingFaces a regular mixture of routine and non-routine problems in the role.Should be resilient and calm under pressure.Must be a proactive problem solver.
