"Rye Lane" is a contemporary social comedy short film set in multi-racial Peckham, South London.The film starts out when after a father rejects his daughters request to get her hair cut, Farhana, a Muslim hijab- wearing girl, heads onto the streets of Peckham in search of a hair salon that will protect her modesty against the male gaze of unrelated men. Farhana soon realizes that finding a hijab friendly hair salon is no small mission.
