    Brown Bag Films Manchester is a 2D Animation studio working with Toon Boom Harmony on multiple productions for globally recognised clients. Working closely with the series’ Producer (s), the Supervising Art Director is responsible for overseeing the Art Direction within the studio across multiple series.This role will be full time onsite in our Manchester based studios, working closely with the series Producer, the Director of the series(‘), the Assistant Art Directors & crew in the Manchester studios.This role will suit a motivated Art Director with an established background in long form series animation, who can demonstrate versatility of style and a proven ability to teach and mentor within an art department.This position is a Fixed Term Contract.Key Duties:Working across two series initially with potential to expand across further productions as required, the Supervisory Art Director role requires:Overseeing Art direction of the series through pre-production, production and post-productionCharacter, location and overall look design, including lighting and color scriptsManage the series(‘) art department, including briefing and managing concept artists, character designers, background paintersGive clear direction in the form of notes or Photoshop markupsApproval of final color correction in postWork closely with the Assistant Art Directors, Producer and Director to achieve highest quality for broadcastAct as key point of contact for Art Department for Manchester and be available to speak as an advocate for the studio Art Department at events if so desiredWork with the L&D Manager in Dublin and L&D Advisor in Manchester with regard to potential training requirements for the Art DepartmentWork closely with Recruitment in the hiring of key resources for Art Department including advising on job descriptions, working to review profiles with Recruitment & being actively involved in interviewing.You will have :5+ years of experience in an Animation production environment, ideally within long form animation series environment as an Art Director.2+ years’ experience in a teaching/Supervisory capacity in a studio environment is desirableMust be able to communicate in an articulate and positive manner, keeping close attention to production deadlines & client briefsExcellent teamwork capabilities; will be a natural leader with capacity to motivate & hold team accountable to their requirements, while balancing their artistic sensibilitiesMust be able to work to tight deadlines & understand schedules for long form series eg. 52x11 minute episodesAbility to make decisions under pressure & cope with challenges within production
