    JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Stage Operations Supervisor is part of the Core Staff and reports to the Stage Operations Manager. This person is responsible for assisting with the operation of the mobile stage fleet, care and management of the warehouse facilities, and care and maintenance of the vehicle and stage fleet. We anticipate the majority of this work to take place at our company warehouse located on Pittsburgh’s Northside, as well as at stage show locations throughout the region. Flyspace Productions operates the largest Stageline Mobile Stage fleet on the East Coast (East of St. Louis), with eight mobile stages. Our stages include three SL50 models, one SL75 model (arriving Spring 2018), three SL100 models (one arriving Spring 2018), and one SL260 model with covered wings (arriving Spring 2018). The stages primarily work during the Stage Season which begins in April and slows down in October annually. In addition, a few winter holiday season events make use of our equipment, but the other months of the year are utilized for annual care, maintenance, and repairs. Work DutiesMobile Stage Operation:The Stage Operations Supervisor will report to the Stage Operations Manager and will provide assistance in operating the fleet under their direction. These duties include:Moving of Stages: Towing stages as needed using company vehicles. USDOT medical clearance required (will be provided if needed)Operation of Stages:  Working with the stage operations team, oversee or assist with the building of mobile stages at show locations throughout the region. Also oversee the operation of the stages while in use by the client to ensure that they are being used safely and according to Flyspace standardsStage Preparation: Oversee or assist with preparing stages for each show including cleaning, packing and unpacking, repairs and maintenance, and gathering or coordinating additional equipmentStage Maintenance: Oversee or assist with functions related to maintaining the stages in proper, safe, working order including routine maintenance and emergency repairsStage Operation Certification: Attend stage certification training provided by Stageline to be authorized to operate each of our mobile stage models on behalf of Flyspace Productions  Warehouse Facilities Management:Warehouse Organization: Work with Stage Operations Manager and Venue Manager to develop a comprehensive warehouse organization structureWarehouse Management: Oversee and manage the use of the warehouse to ensure that it operates efficiently and effectivelyMaintain Organization: Ensure that all items are accounted for regularly and that warehouse organization structure remains in place Fleet Coordination:Vehicle Care and Upkeep: Maintain all Flyspace vehicles on a weekly basis including cleaning, gas, and routine careVehicle Maintenance: Coordinate with Stage Operations Manager to schedule and oversee regular maintenance for all Flyspace vehiclesVehicle Paperwork: Manage all paperwork related to Flyspace vehicles including registration, inspection, and company paperworkStage Maintenance: Coordinate with Stage Operations Manager to schedule and oversee routine maintenance, inspection, and repairs for mobile stage fleetVehicle Stock: Ensure that all vehicles are properly stocked with appropriate tools, first aid, and supplies on a weekly basis Additional Duties:Team Support: Working with the entire team to support one another and provide assistance in other departments as neededOffice Support: Provide additional support in the office as needed to support the teamProject Assistance: Occasionally assisting with other special projects as needed Work ScheduleDue to the nature of the mobile stage business, this position will require work over most weekends from April through October. In addition, work days in excess of 10 hours are anticipated to happen regularly. Travel more than two hours from Pittsburgh will also occur regularly, and may occasionally require an overnight stay. Job QualificationsBachelor’s degree in technical theater or technical production, or three years of experience in related fieldCoordinator or Supervisor level experience in stage production experience in rigging, lighting, sound, and/or stagecraftUSDOT Medical Certification required. This will be provided if needed, and applicant must pass qualifications for certification.Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required, with the ability to safely operate a personal or company owned vehicle. Competencies and Skills RequiredAbility to tow a trailer or operate a larger vehicle, such as a box truck.Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, and to turn a crank to lift additional weight with mechanical assistancePhysical ability to climb, stand, squat, lift, carry, and reachAbility to climb a ladder (4’-16’) and use a genie or scissor liftAbility to adapt in different situations and engage in creative thinking to overcome challenges.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced, and sometimes stressful, rapidly changing environmentAbility to manage multiple, simultaneous projects and work assignmentsWilling to work in a flexible schedule that may include long hours and irregular times, including weekends and holidaysEager to learn and willingness to be trained in existing systems or policiesMaturity and understanding of an artistic process and the ability to work closely with clients, including artists and designers, in a diplomatic and professional mannerExcellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to maintain and establish positive client relationshipsExcellent leadership and the ability to effectively manage a team and work well within a close management teamExcellent organizational skills and the ability to clearly communicate any systems or organizational structures to other members of the team or staffTechnical skills such as carpentry, lighting, sound, rigging, or AV experience highly desiredAdvanced computer skills. Use of online computer programs will be requiredOccasional travel will be requiredEfficient running of a crew call, including staff training as needed ClassificationThis is a full time, salaried position. Rate is commensurate with experience. This position is eligible for company benefits following initial hire period. LocationThe location of this position will be Pittsburgh, PA, specifically at the company warehouse/shop located on Pittsburgh’s North Side. Occasional travel will be required, primarily within driving distance of Pittsburgh.
