My name is Miriam Kvås, and I am in my final year of studying Film Production at the University of Winchester. For my Final Major Project, I am Producing ´Traders´, a fifteen minute short film I will be creating alongside Merle Marron, the Director and Cinematographer.The film will fit within the genre of thriller due to the dark themes of criminality, corruption and revenge, with elements of action.The film follows Rick, a loyal husband to Annie in a near future world where the NHS has been privatised. He would do anything for his wife, who he feels the need to protect at all costs, willing to resort to unconventional or even illegal means to do so. Unable to pay the hospital bills, Rick resorts to selling his kidney on the black market to raise the money, but is betrayed and left for dead by the gang, which leads to the dark notion of revenge.
