Education
Year Qualification Where 2015 Production Arts Leyton Sixth Form College Additional Skills
I have trainined in technical theatre, gaining skills including:
BTEC Extended Diploma in Production Arts: Distinction*/ Distinction/ Distinction
I am experienced and confident using ETC consoles and Eos Software, both for programming and operating. Primarily I have used the Ion and Element; I am also familiar with Nomad – including setting it up. I have also operated on the Geo and Ti. I have completed basic training (level 2) with ETC. I am an experienced rigger, regularly working on both get ins and outs, quickly focusing/re-focusing lights before a deadline and problem solving any technical issues. I have also used these skills in the roles of lighting designer, operator and programmer. As I regularly work at heights, health and safety is something that I always practise.
I have worked in a number of venues as a duty technician. This has given me skills and experience working both with technicians (such as organising and providing their technical specifications), as part of a team in receiving venues to make sure that everything is ready and working for visiting companies. Also being able to work with performers, making sure their needs are catered for, they feel comfortable and happy in the space at the same time as making sure they are aware of and following the theatre’s policies and standards. This will include going over fire safety procedures, inclusive policies, health and safety practices as well as small things such as telling them where the kettle is. This has all helped me develop skills in stage management - I have previously completed roles as stage manager, DSM and ASM.
I have experience working in a variety of venues, and doing different styles of shows. From the Royal Opera House to studio and smaller venues including the Little Angel Theatre, this has given me skills working on small fringe shows, to large concerts and ballets.
