About me
Colin Billing is a London based conductor, musical director, pianist, arranger & vocal coach. Working predominantly in the world of musical theatre, Colin is also experienced in the worlds of opera and other classical and legitimate repertoire. As a pianist and keyboard player he is a very strong sight reader, and has worked extensively accompanying singers where he is regarded as an expressive and sympathetic performer.In the theatre his Musical Director credits include Lend Me A Tenor - the musical (Gielgud Theatre, London & Theatre Royal, Plymouth), Chasing Fate (Birmingham Hippodrome), Godspell (UK Tour), Lift Off! (opening show at Leicester's CURVE) Wizard Of Oz (Leicester Haymarket), Three Men In A Boat (UK tour), The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe (Leicester Haymarket), Brenda Bly - Teen Detective (Bridewell Theatre, London), Beyond Phantom (UK tour), R.S.V.P. Colin has conducted & arranged music for several recordings, concerts & events nationwide, including the "last night" concert at Leicester's Haymarket Theatre, and the opening production at the new venue - CURVE. He was musical director for the Russian soprano Marina Laslo and her Russian Romances show at the Barbican. For the last four years Colin has been musical director and arranger for Christmas with the Salvation Army at the Royal Albert Hall.
Colin also works extensively developing new musicals and has worked as arranger/orchestrator and musical director on a number of projects including prolifically with British composer Charles Miller. He is also the co-founder of the Big Little Theatre School, a thriving theatre school and youth theatre based in Bournemouth.
Colin is currently working the score to a new feature film version of Romeo & Juliet for S4K Entertainment.
During the last two years Colin has been working alongside American musical supervisor and conductor Paul Gemignani on the musical Lend Me A Tenor and other projects. Colin was recently the production musical director for the 25th Anniversary tour of Phantom Of The Opera.

Aside from his work as a musical supervisor & musical director, Colin has worked widely as an arranger and orchestrator, particularly working with new musicals.
Colin is also an experienced vocal coach, specialising in musical theatre repertoire and song interpretation and presentation. He is often available for private coaching and workshop sessions.
