About me
I am an actor/performer/director/writer with many years of experience in both professional and unpaid sectors. I have written and devised many shows which have gone on to be performed both regionally and nationally. Most recently I directed Noel Coward's Relative Values, and performed as Cyrano de Bergerac at Retford, and as Rev. Hale in The Crucible at Lincoln. After many years as a character actor I have at last become a good director, having honed my skills by being directed by some difficult people in my time and learning how not to do it!
I can offer a wide range of knowledge on theatre from Shakespeare to high comedy, Mystery Plays to Pantomime, sketch shows to improvisational work. I have experience in mounting shows for Edinburgh Fringe and am flexible on working times and locations. I see every production as the most important thing in the world and my enthusiasm for the art of theatre never diminishes.
Previous shows include: Hamlet, Richard III, the taming of the shrew, Macbeth, Much Ado About Nothing, King Lear, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, Waiting for Godot, Cyrano de Bergerac, Breaking the Code, Dick Whittington, Art, Merry Wives of Windsor, Murder at the Vicarage, My Fair Lady, Relative Values, Lincoln Mystery Plays (includes European tours), The Tempest, Hess, Tom Jones, Daisy Pulls It Off, Comedy of errors (Lincoln and Edinburgh), The Snowman (Lincoln and Edinburgh), Hound of the Baskervilles, Lincoln Risings, Comic Relief Specials and many more stand-up and sketch shows, too numerous to mention.
