About me
I am a multi-skilled technician with a lighting bias, and secondary skills in sound. My early experience was with amateur theatre, but I entered the professional industry with a trainee lighting post at Glynebourne Productions. Whilst at Glyndebourne, I worked with the lighting department to expand my knowledge in the field. When my traineeship ended I stayed on at Glyndebourne as an Assistant Lighting Technician to help with their tour rehearsals. After this, I spent a few weeks working with the ENO before returning to Glyndebourne for the 2019 maintenance period and festival.
Previously, I was the sole technician for a small theatre at a sixth form college. I held the position for 18 months. In this role, I had to be creative with my working methods to be able to manage all technical aspects of shows on my own. As a result, I am able to work under pressure and since moving on from the college, I truly appreciate the value of having a team of people to work with.
Originally, I trained as a musician but have always nurtured an interest in the more technical areas of the stage. At some point, my career aspirations swapped over and I am now a technician with a keen interest in music!
I have worked in four venues which have given me experience in: opera, musical theatre, live music, drama, dance shows, showcase.
