About me
I am a creative yet technically minded and fast learning individual, with a thirst for knowledge and developing new skills. As a proficient seamstress I have relished conquering any challenges that have appeared throughout my career to date, and the diversity it has encompassed, from Victorian corsetry and 19th Century military costume to creating large scale moving puppets from bamboo and working with clay, latex and resin to create 16th Century jewellery. My interests primarily lie in the construction of historical costume. A favourite project consisted of recreating a 16th Century dress from a portrait of Marie de’ Medici, the cut and detailing of which were an engaging challenge as attention to detail and accuracy are important to me.
Additional skills:
Pattern drafting- both flat and on a stand, millinery, basic tailoring, fittings, alterations, tutu making, fabric manipulation.
Industry awards:
Shortlisted for the Royal Opera House design competition 2013
