About me
I am an extremely determined and hard working individual who will always strive to achieve any goal or task set for me. It is my career ambition to run and engineer my own recording studio and recording rooms.I have had an extensive amount of practical experience within the field of sound engineering from my time at college, working on projects such as the Fife Excellence Awards and other various large scale scenarios. One of my major projects required me to work for the BBC to produce a children's educational DVD. This involved a team of us using 50 microphones simultaneously to record an orchestra, big band, rock band and brass band. This was the highlight of my career so far as it allowed me to utilise many of the skills I had learned in a large scale real life scenario.
The final year of my HND course involved splitting the class into ten groups of three people. Each group was given a project to find, record and mix a band of our choice - Then when the recording was complete deliver a presentation to a large audience. Project management was a requirement of the assignment which meant sticking to strict timelines and providing justification if our projects strayed. This taught me important skills in project and time management, working with a team of people with different skills and gave me experience of working under pressure yet still achieving our goal.
The project scenario required us to work in a professional environment as if we were working and paying customers. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience as it gave me an insight into working in a studio under realistic conditions.
I am eager to build on the knowledge and experience I gathered during my time at college and feel sure that this coupled with my focused, enthusiastic and hardworking personality would make me an asset to any company within the recording industry.
