About me
Experienced lighting and audio operator, live sound engineer.I have spent the last 2 years establishing a busy and effective service department with a leading UK rental company, maintaining and repairing stock from video, audio and lighting disciplines. Supporting internal demands as well as prestigious national venues, I have enabled a small, skilled team to deliver consistently strong results in a demanding and dynamic environment.
Designing and overseeing the construction of a workshop space approximately 2000sqft, including the design of custom furniture.
Change management to help established staff to transition from "lone working" to working as part of a highly skilled close-knit team.
Developed and introduced a database-based job management system to track recurring faults, along with a supporting paperwork system to provide an ISO9001 compliant audit trail.

I spent a year in the assumed role of technical crew chief at a busy 800-seat regional theatre. I arranged crew, designed lighting and audio for productions, advanced touring shows, arranged crew, operated lighting, sound and video equipment, built sets.

5 years with a company specialising in educational and commercial audio, lighting, and video installation- particularly new-build work. During this time I rose from a first-year apprentice to senior project manager where the role involved:
Planning
Including establishing a standard product range, and a modular installation system. Working with suppliers and contractors to deliver tightly-integrated installations.
Quoting
Working with existing staff to standardise pricing and formatting quotes, as well as managing client and contractor expectations in a complicated and tightly controlled relationship.
Design
Including marking architectural drawings with AutoCAD, as well as designing custom interfaces to deliver complex, but user friendly installations.
Installation
As well as hands-on experience of installation in a new-build and refurb setting, I moved on to supervise and oversee the H&S, material supply, plant and other operations of a busy and skilled installation team of 10.
Comissioning and testing
Monitoring and often carrying out comissioning on sizable systems including audio, lighting, and video equipment, as well integration with fire, building management, and other systems.

Returning to recent installations as well as legacy venues to train users, as well as carry out fault finding,
Warehouse
Arranging the sale of a substantial stock of used equipment, establishing stock control systems, establishing quality assurance procedures
