About me
Stage ManagementI have stage managed the last three professional Pantomimes that I have worked on. This role included attending rehearsals and production meetings as well as running the technical rehearsals once the company were on stage. Being a stage manager is a very demanding position especially with an intense rehearsal period that pantomime is. I enjoy working so closely on a production and don't mind working the long hours that are needed to put a production together. I know how to defuse stressful situations that will arise from people working long hours with each other and feel I bring calm as well as authority to a production, which is also needed.
Technician
I have been a theatre technician since I was 17. Starting as a casual technician in my local theatres (South Hill Park Arts Centre Bracknell , Princes Hall Theatre Aldershot, The Electric Theatre Guildford and Farnborough 6th Form College). From working in various theatres I have learnt there is not just one way of doing things and each theatre has different ways of running. I am competent in all areas of theatre but especially in Lighting and Stage Management. Since working full time at Princes Hall Theatre I have worked more in the Sound Department, being the in house sound engineer for all shows that require it. This includes local battle of the bands and big names in comedy including Bill Baily, Russell Howard and Russell Brand to name a few.
Lighting Designer
For the last two years I ahem been the lighting designer for South East Berks Gangshow, a show run by the scouts. This is a week long show with a very short production time while at the theatre. With the get-in commencing on the Sunday morning and the show opening on the Monday night. Having only two days to rig, plot and program the lighting is a busy but enjoyable experience. I am currently in the process of getting the script for this years show in Feb.
Festival Work
Over the last two years I have been working on various music festivals. Two of which were at South Hill Park Arts Centre in Bracknell. Working alongside the operations manager as co-site manager, together we drew up the plans for the infrastructure of the festival as well as working with outside contractors planning what was needed on the day regarding stewarding, security and first aid. On the day I was on call for any issue that arose as well as making sure the safety plans for the day were followed by all staff.
I was also working for Hotbox Events in August 2016, working as Campsite supervisor at Reading Festival. This was an eight hour shift each day, looking after around twenty volunteers. The role included giving out roles to the volunteers, making sure they were safe while they worked as well as being on call for any issues that arose within the campsite. This meant working with the head of security for the campsite as well as there teams. During the week I had to deal with various issues and due to having a first aid qualification I was first on scene for a lot of medical calls.
