About me
Short description of my voice:I have always been a people person and have a warm and friendly personality, and that is how I would describe my voice. Natural, also reassuring but can be authoritative too.
Additional skills:
I’m only just starting out in the voiceover world, I know, but I’m full of enthusiasm and can’t wait to get started.
So that’s where I want to go, but where have I been? In the late 70s I had a 4-year modelling career in India, working for big agencies of the day such as Lintas and what is now Ogilvy Mather. I did professional photographic and film shoots for a whole variety of advertisements, from toothpaste to fizzy drinks and everything in-between! It all started when I won a local beauty competition and was amongst the last four on stage in the Miss India competition; sadly, I was the first one asked to leave but was proud that I had got that far.
That was a long, long time ago and since coming to the UK in the early 80s I have achieved so much where my voice was a very important part of what I did. I worked in theatre - stage managing shows at Questor’s Theatre, Ealing. Then went into the travel and leisure industry, from working as a receptionist and helping with events in hotels to being in the retail sector as a travel agent. Also, for a local estate agent and in a bank and now part of a home-working team for a travel company.
I was thrilled when I auditioned for Radio Jackie as a travel news presenter in 2014, and during the 6 months there I thoroughly enjoyed my work and was comfortable being live on air. Also, I have worked on an ‘Alexa’ voiceover project a few years ago. I love humming a tune or two and writing poetry too.
As you can see, I have had some varied jobs over the years, and I now want to use all my skills and experience to help me succeed in the world of voiceover work.
