An artist become obsessed with creating a perfect masterpiece to the point where the painting itself comes to life.
An artist becomes obsessed with creating a perfect masterpiece / self portrait. Over the short course of the film we witness the artist become more and more unhinged until eventually the painting comes to life and emerges from the canvas a disturbing creature. The audience never knows if the creature is real or in the artists mind.
