Soul Asylum is an experimental, surrealistic and abstract film about "madness" and how society might treat the least fortunate of its members in a harmful way.

Rampo, an insecure and sensitive boy who had a tragic childhood, has been sent to a mental asylum, where he encounters Yoko, another patient who imagines herself as a crow. The two young lovers try to endure the hardship in their imaginative world and escape the doctors and nurses who view their friendship as madness that needs to be cured.
