Favourite Role

OK.... I'm very bored at work. And it's been a while since any new time killer threads had been created. Just out of curiosity ~ what's been the favourite role you've played so far in your career? And why?

I luved playing Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream, only coz I'd previously been an ASM for 10 months and my confidence was at an all low. Anyway, we did this out in the open and I felt so challenged doing Shakespeare! Really nice bunch of people and we had a great time. It was that hot summer we had a few years back. We had to rehearse in the afternoons it was so hot earlier in the day..

Little John in Robin Hood (it was a comedy production!!)...I got to use a puppet for the part of King Richard...although in rehearsals, before we got the puppet, I was just using my hand...very funny watching people talking to your hand!

Ooh, haven't answered my own question. Pleb. I think Viola in Twelfth Night or Jim Hawkins in Treasure Island. Anything that involves cross dressing.

Clare Strachan in Red Riding,just wished they had made 1977 into a film and I would have had my big break. Nice working on that level with Big British Actors.

Paula in the Positive hour,what a character !

Either:

'Various' in King Cotton - great to be a little fish in a big pond, when I was made so welcome by director, cast & crew alike; and to be involved in a socially relevant production by one of our very best writers, Jimmy McGovern;

or

Bottom, Demetrius, Egeus & Hippolyta in a TIE production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Great fun, and great training - you really need to be on top form to keep a primary school audience engaged.

Bored in the day job - outrageous! :)

To date, probably Mark (shopping and fucking - hardest role I've had), Caliban, Creature (the Frankenstein monster (his name is Adam)) and Jacques are the high points.

I would love to play Keith Flint, there is something to work on!

Hey Aidan - isn't being shafted what being an actor is all about? Or have I got that wrong?
