Sum up the acting industry
If you could sum up the acting industry in one sentance what would you say?
Basically for the dissertation I have to write a report and I need an opening line for my introduction.

The art of making an audience believe the implausible.
Simon i would love for you to write my entire dissertation all 6,000 words of it for me then I can go and do acting work how does that sound?
Also anyone that took part if you want the results then contact me mid may and I can give them to you. I have done them already but because I am still writing the paper I am not allowed to tell you.

Acting is a necessary part of human existence - we all take on different personas and create a layer of facades and ultimately there is no such thing as a life without drama.

That much is true...but, as to the opening line, it's very hard to say until you know which direction the introductory paragraph is moving in.
Maybe if, in doubt, quote somebody else, and then open up the discussion. My call - Jean-Paul Satre 'Acting is happy agony'. ;)

I find it strange theres so many negative comments? I understand, but surely thats part 'n parcel of it all innit?
How many people get a round of applause after a hard days work?
The acting industry is about bravery, creativity and team work. And you can say with absolute certainty that everyone working on the right project together will work as hard as they can to achieve what they believe to be the best production they can.
Simon, I'm not sure I'd call them "negative" comments.
Just comments heavily dosed with healthy (and humorous) cynicism :)
