Thought for the day

Do you know, it's just dawned on me that I've spent more time in my life dreaming than thinking. I think I missed my life: it passed me by while I wasn't paying attention. No one has plenty of time. It's important to do what you're doing like it's your last chance.

Huge apologies to the Gooseman for going off topic.

Teeny confession to make re the skydiving!! As anyone who knows me knows, I would take huge bold steps the length of the plane and then when I reached the open hatch I'd bottle out of taking that one final leap into the unknown, my courage would desert me and even though I know I'd probably enjoy the ride immensely I'd turn from the challenge and allow the braver person who was behind me to enjoy the exhilaration of that one huge step.

Feel better now for getting that off my chest and will leave you "on-topic" chaps to enjoy the rest of your day.

Adios from sunny (well, slighlty cloudy really) Spain!!

I must thank my good friends Barbaram and the mighty Captain for their defence of my honour in the face of such witless and juevenile threats from the one called masterchef and his cohort the Angle (sorry, but is he acute or obtuse - you didn't quite clarify much more...). My friend, cooking is a wonderful art, one that I fear you have no right to claim credit for, as you seem to have less grace and soul than a floater. However, the Captain is correct; this forum is not for the likes of what you sought to initiate. All of us may disagree at times but we do not attack or threaten our fellow CCP colleagues. Solidarity is something that has already begun to descend upon your head so please do not encourage its descent any further. Instead, follow that fine fellow The Bohemian, and the beautiful Lioness, in the way that they enriched our lyrical playground with their own vitality and rich wit! Goose will never be on the menu my culinary friend.

All the best to all.

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings, but shorter tempers; wider motorways, but narrower viewpoints; we spend more, but have less; we buy more, but enjoy it less.

Everyone smile and brighten someone's day - it costs nothing and is invaluable.

Today I had a short temper but I tried to swallow it.

Yesterday I felt the love and I tried to hold onto it.

Tommorrow I will try to be better than Ive ever been.

Thanks Lioness - not sure either, perhaps something to do with all the posts I made yesterday - slow day, what can I say?? Thanks for letting me join the pride.
Could have been my face next to The Captain or Gooseman postings and that would've raised some eyebrows!
Have a good day

The best experience you ever had is still part of you. The most beautiful day you have ever enjoyed still lives within your heart. All the love you've ever known is yours in this very moment. Though it arose from specific conditions, its value now goes far beyond them and continues long after those conditions have faded.
What's even better is that you can take that value and expand on it, at any time, in any place. The love, the beauty, the experiences that you treasure can serve as the basis for even more richness.
People, places, events and things pass in and out of your life. What you're left with is whatever you choose to keep and what you choose to keep, what you truly value and appreciate and treasure, sets the stage for what will be. The more you choose to see the good and positive aspects of each experience, the more fulfilling life will grow.
You never have to struggle to regain what you think is lost. The best is always with you, and can grow into much, much more.

We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for.

Its easier to believe that a person can be bad
than good in this life and i find that quite sad.
Are our expectations so low
that we wont let ourselves go
to a place where dreams can come true.
I try to be good
but its mis-understood
as something that cannot be real.
But real is my name
I have nothing to gain
Yet will I hold out for love that i feel.

Actor

A fellow actress sent me this and I've found it very inspiring so I thought I'd share it . . . .

"You may have a fresh start any moment you choose,
for this thing that we call "failure" is not the falling down,
but the staying down".
Mary Pickford

And this extra story is from me . . .

A scientist spent his whole life using experiement after new experiement to prove a theory he believed in. All failed. Until, at last, he found the one that worked. It revolutionised scientific thinking across the globe. A journalist asked him why, after so many failiers he hadn't thought of giving up. His response was this, "The whole point is to fail, because each time you do something that doesn't work you get one step closer to the thing that does."
