Netflix announces it will not be renewing House of Cards after allegations aimed at Kevin Spacey.

The subscription-based TV and movie-viewing service made the decision after actor Anthony Rapp alleged that Spacey tried to seduce him when he was 14. 

Spacey would have been 26 at the time.

Rapp told Buzzfeed: “He picked me up like a groom picks up the bride over the threshold. But I don't, like, squirm away initially, because I'm like, 'What's going on?' And then he lays down on top of me.”

Netflix released a statement along with the show's producing partner Media Rights Capital. 

"Media Rights Capital and Netflix are deeply troubled by last night’s news concerning Kevin Spacey," it reads. 

"In response to last night’s revelations, executives from both of our companies arrived in Baltimore this afternoon to meet with our cast and crew to ensure that they continue to feel safe and supported. As previously scheduled, Kevin Spacey is not working on set at this time."

The show is currently filming its 6th season and Rapp stars in new TV series Star Trek Discovery, as Lieutenant Paul Stamets.

In response to the allegations, Spacey released a statement on Sunday evening stating he was “beyond horrified” and also came out “as a gay man”, a move that was criticised by gay rights activists.

Today, The Old Vic Theatre in London, UK, was accused of ignoring sexual harassment allegations against the actor.
