About me
From a young age to becoming a recent graduate of Bath Spa University with a 2:1 BA in Acting, the industry of Acting and Performing is something I have always had a keen passion for. Over the years my training has broadened my view and interests throughout the field, from Classic Theatre to Stand Up Comedy, Shakespeare, Clowning, Contemporary Theatre, Physical Theatre, and others such as Film Making and Directing. Creativity has always been an essential element of my persona and my experience in the field of art has pushed and developed this trait to new levels. Directing and Comedy are two such examples which I never thought I would get to attempt, however these have become two skills now consider to be invaluable assets. Aside from stage and live performances I have also had the privilege to be in various film and television projects, from extra work to main character roles in both independent films, student films, mocumentaries and even sitcoms. With all this experience and training I am now looking to fully immerse myself in the industry, to bring my abilities and ambition to multiple projects as well as continuing to develop and maximise my skill set.Additional skills:
Shakespeare
BASSC Rapier and Dagger - Pass
BASSC Unarmed - Pass
Stand Up Comedy
Clowning
Comedia Dell'Arte
Physical Theatre
Additional information:
I was born in Kenya in 1995, and moved to England at the age of 4 and a half. I spent my earlier school days at private schools and later moved on to state education, as well as moving back and forth between Surrey and Devon. Throughout all this my interest in the Art world of performance has never wavered and because of my history of moving from different areas and schools I have been privileged to be a part of many different skill enhancing experiences. At the age of 15 I played Claudius from Hamlet at the Phoenix Theatre in Exeter, one of my earlier experiences on a proper stage. My training began in earnest at Godalming College where I was given rigorous experience in contemporary physical theatre which tackled hard hitting subjects, both thought provoking and self-directed. I was also given the chance to take part in two touring performances, one of which was an independent Theatre in Education piece teaching schools about the dangers of hate crime. My two pinnacle experiences, however, were co-writing my own stylised performance about mental health and playing the role of Renton in our own self-directed Rock Opera version of Trainspotting. Upon moving to Bath to study Acting for a degree, my training in the works of such practitioners as Stanislavski, Artaud, Brecht, Jacques Le Coq, Laban, and many others came to fruition. My training took several different paths from Classic Theatre such as Chekov and Ibsen, to Stage Combat, Stand-up comedy/Clowning, The Feldenkrais Method of movement, Film Making, Screen Acting, Directing, Producing and many more, as well as playing on of the leading Roles in the final year’s performance of The Servant of Two Masters. The greatest experience I have been privileged to thus far however was being able to play Oliver from As You Like It at The Globe in London. Since graduation I have been offered a chance at professional directing for a production at the Pound Theatre in Corsham, and invaluable entrance to the professional side of the industry. I believe that although I will never be done with learning new skills, I am primed and ready to take my passion, dedication, and numerous experiences into the world of performance.
