About me
Change is the only constant! I live to explore, create, push boundaries, uncover, unmask and share truths on as many levels as possible…I have had a lifelong obsession with the craft of acting and Film in particular.. Theatrical, musical and dance/ physical performance were always my favourite activities growing up and this continued into adulthood. I spent many years doing intensive improvisation based training and performance with Josephine Larsen (author of the wonderful new book: ‘The Power of Acting’) among other teachers and techniques, and also training in various physical disciplines towards application for the JISC stunt register, which I am over half way to completing. I also completed Brian Timoney’s transformative professional method acting programme in London with a phenomenal team of teachers, casting directors and directors.
Originally from Devon with an unusually diverse background, I have travelled and worked in various locations across the UK and internationally. The majority of my professional experience has been in training of horses for various disciplines, but I have also worked in many other capacities including but not limited to cruise ship, children’s entertainment/ gymnastics coaching, social care, zoo/ sanctuary animal keeping and conservation, veterinary assistance, Scuba diving, promotional work, direct sales and I even once worked as a civil servant – which was a surprisingly eye opening psychosocial experience!!
I am addicted to learning so am always studying something new – currently I am doing an Open University degree which has spanned over physics, psychology, neuroscience, chemistry and philosophy. My intention is always to utilise whatever knowledge I acquire to creatively inspire and also, wherever possible, to ignite social and environmental conscience and promote more ethical and sustainable living.
I also love writing and while my main focus is currently developing my acting career, I plan to learn the ropes and eventually make my own film projects.
Additional skills:
Horse Riding & Training (Showjumping / Eventing / Starting / Liberty/ basic Tricks), Gymnastics (BG Level 1 Tumbling Coach), Trampoline, Kung Fu (black belt in Sanshou), Scuba Diving (PADI Divemaster), Singing, Contemporary Dance, Pilates, Yoga, Roller Skating
Additional information:
My passion for acting can translate into any genre and character type but my areas of particular affinity would be the strange/ dark, gritty dramatic subtexts and fantasy/ existential/ sci-fi and anything that encourages open minds or expresses crucial truths that are especially culturally relevant for our time.
Just a few of my favourite writer/ directors are Charlie Kaufman, Michel Gondry, Richard Linklater, Lars von Trier, Shane Carruth, Sebastián Silva, Terry Gilliam, Nicolas Winding Refn and obviously Vince Gilligan!
I love short film and feel that it is such an underutilised medium in the mainstream that really deserves and would serve the wider audience well.
Although I am especially interested in Film and TV, I am massively flexible and very happy to be involved in any medium and genre.
