Thom Sonny Green, perhaps best known for playing drums in the band alt-J, is also an electronic music producer, a visual artist, and now making his debut in acting. Green was born and raised in North Yorkshire before attending Leeds University for a degree in Fine Art. In 2012 alt-J won the Mercury Music Prize and the Ivor Novello for their first album An Awesome Wave, which was followed by two further albums This is All Yours (2014) and Relaxer (2017). Green released his own solo electronic album High Anxiety in 2016, exploring his more introspective interests through sound. Stemming from his love of film, Green conceded to a growing curiosity for method acting and enrolled in a class with James Rose at Be The Actor Within in November 2018. He has studied under Rose since, and will make his first appearance acting in the Chekhov play The Seagull at The Cockpit Theatre in London.
