About me
Ayu Logan is a filmmaker who is driven to tell stories about immigration, cultural identities and social justice. Having lived and worked in New Zealand, Japan, Mexico and the U.S., she is a mixed-race global citizen who is strongly committed to using media for social awareness, impact and change.She was a 2020 fellow of the Creative Visions Women Excel Project which teams up emerging female filmmakers with non-profit organizations working for gender justice and equality in Los Angeles. More recently, she worked with an all-female crew on a feature-length documentary Seeking Asylum, which explores the refugee experience and asylum seeking process. She also assisted in creating and implementing both the Academy Award and impact campaigns for the Tribeca-award winning feature-length documentary, Ferguson Rises, which premiered on PBS’ Independent Lens. She currently works as a field director on the PBS documentary series Roadtrip Nation.
