About me
I am a London based cinematographer, originally from Amsterdam, raised by an opera singer/psychotherapist and a banker.I started out acting in the theatre, but when I went to film school to gain more understanding of the process as an actor, I fell in love with lighting and camera. With my background in acting, I feel my sensitivity of the actor’s process has been very valuable in aiding directors to capture the strongest performances.
Having danced a lot as a kid, I have a great love for shooting pieces with strong physical performances. However, I don’t shy away from the beauty of stillness either. My main interest is people. I love to observe them, and I love to try and portray their inner world and the way they connect with their outer world.

Additional information:
Born in Amsterdam 1987
Subjects for A-levels:

removed : Studied Theatre and Performance at Leeds University (Leeds)
2010: Short course filmmaking at CREA (Amsterdam)
removed : Cinematography at Met Film School (London)
I speak:
Dutch, English, Dutch sign language (fluent)
French, German (medium)
Random fact:
I have always kept my body flexible, strong and in shape through dancing. It might sound slightly unrelated, but I advice anyone in camera or lighting crew to give it a try!
I have been told to bring a very positive atmosphere to the set. However, check my cv (in uploaded files) for the reference letters at the end, as I'm sure you'd like some more proof of this than just me saying so.
