About me
I moved to Edinburgh in August 2012 and became fascinated by the technical side of theatre/events.I therefore decided to study technical theatre at HNC level which I completed June 2016.
I am extremely enthusiastic and personable and work well independently and as part of a team. I consider creativity, communication and organisation to be my strongest skills; I also have excellent IT skills and have a head for numbers and am also very quick to learn.
I have been involved in theatre for the past few years. I have produced, constructed and designed shows and love being a part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
During Edinburgh Fringe 2015 I produced a show called The Last Kill for a brand new company called Contemporary Theatre of Scotland.
The show was a Fringe First and we were an unheard of company but in the end we managed to score a range of 4 and 5 star reviews and an award from ThreeWeeks. For this role I had to liaise with the media, set up photoshoots, find a flyer/poster designer and design and operate the lighting and sound as well as build the set.
During college I have taken on the roles Stage Manger, Lighting Designer/Operator and Sound Designer/Operator. I worked with both generic and intelligent lights (Martin)
Since college I do event work for the company Crewtec, this job can range from putting up Christmas Lights in malls to setting up the sound at Murrayfield as well as setting up many corporate events.
I worked as Stage Crew during the Edinburgh Fringe 2016 at the Traverse Theatre, this involved building the sets for 12 shows and then being part of the turnaround team between shows. This job involved use of power tools and hand tools, an ability to deal with stress and to be able to work strongly within a team. Some of the sets were complicated/heavy and tall and I have now gained a specific skill in how to manipulate and carry awkward and weighty items.
We also dealt with huge cycloramas, projector screens, floors (dance and wooden), lots of steel deck and repairing any breakages/wear.
Additional skills:
I am able to use Eos and Zero88 series of lighting boards and have knowledge of both analogue and digital sound desks such as the Allen & Heath Qu series.

Additional information:
I am based in Yorkshire currently. But can easily work in both Bristol and London.
