Additional information:
As a Director of Photography I value creating a visually compelling piece that the director or client envisions. As Steadicam operator, I fell in love with the moving camera and its specific use in driving a story forward by creating challenging shots unique to Steadicam and impossible with a traditional dolly or crane. While acquiring my Master’s of Fine Art in Film & Television from SCAD, I have had the fortune to work with leading professionals and learn from their experience and expertise in the field. I have extensive experience in working with a variety of Cinema, ENG, and DSLR cameras as well as all Steadicam and dolly systems provided at the Savannah College of Art and Design (Savannah) not only as a student, but as well as a Teacher’s Assistant and occasional Set Supervisor. This experience has allowed me to understand the theories and principles of using Steadicam and dolly systems; An understanding I passed on to other students during after school sessions where I personally offered my free time educating them on safety requirements, physical conditioning and camera preparations.
Along with my broadcast background from High school and Undergraduate Degree having the opportunity to work for SCAD’s Hamilton Hall Equipment Checkout Center as a staff member allowed me to become proficient with the mechanics, upkeep and inventory of all film equipment provided by the school. This training and education landed me the opportunity to work on a variety of Network, Films, and Corporate jobs in several of camera team positions.
