About me
At present, I am working onboard Royal Caribbean International’s Allure of the Seas as a Sound Technician in our Ice Rink venue with two productions and understudying Sound No1 for Mamma Mia! (the US touring version) as well as supporting the Sound No2 where necessary. For the majority of my career with Royal Caribbean International (RCI) I have been assigned to main room theatre venues, in the role of Sound No. 1, operating sound for a minimum of two main productions each performed twice per cruise. Other shows required me to design and operate sound for incoming one night only headliner acts for two shows per act per cruise with up to 6 headliners in a single cruise.I graduated from Glyndŵr University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Studio Recording and Performance Technology. Though I believe my time in the theatre industry over the past 8 years has taught me more relevant experience. During my employment at Glyndŵr University it was my responsibility to sound design, build and operate the majority of the theatrical-based shows, which utilised house technicians. I continued to develop this skill set throughout my time at RCI becoming a supervisor and learning the administrative side of the job, such as budgeting, ordering equipment and managing a team of 4 technicians.
I believe I would be the ideal candidate because of my work ethic, skills, experience and passion for the industry and the field of sound. At Royal Caribbean we are contracted to work onboard a ship for up to 14 hours a day, 7 days a week, for 7-9 months at a time. I am a passionate individual who fully believes in and would dedicate my time to ensuring the audience is experiencing the high level of entertainment they expect from a National Theatre production. This is supported by my two RCI nominations and one award of Employee of the Month for my commitment to the performance standards.
