About me
To whom it may concern,My name is Neigeme Glasgow-Maeda, and I'm a french Producer/ /Production Manager looking for a suitable position.
I'm applying for this position because I truly believe that working for you would enable me to unlock my full production potential. The smaller companies that i've previously worked for and am still working for, have enabled me to "faire mes armes" in production since I had to learn to multi- task and do at one point or another all the different roles in the Production Dept, from production runner to executive producer, which has made me a more confident production manager/ co-ordinator and a more rounded person. But while they have given me all this of which i'm very greatful, I feel that I need, and my career needs greener pastures where I could perhaps go on to do greater things.
Production, is my passion, it may sound a bit strange, but it's true I love activity making thing happen and I adore cinema. In my humble opinion, production is the glue that binds, an art that takes years of hard graft to master, the rock, the foundation on which the entire production is built. That's why a production manager/Co-ordinator needs to be a bit like a young Muhammed Ali, " float like a butterfly but also knows when to sting like a bee" while always maintaining that smile. We need to ooze confidence and be avid communicators, hard working and always ready to go that extra mile, pleasant and easy to work with, good listeners, able to think on our feet and have a working knowledge and understanding of the entire process of production from pre-to- post production, which I have and which could benefit your company.
Eventhough I've have a Masters Film production, I'm really a graduate of the Hard Knocks School of Production and production management, putting together low budget independent productions all over Europe from Spain to Estonia to successful ends and even winning a few acolades along the way.
Now, i consider myself a young talent, but i'm also a talent scout. In my annual Film festival " the Caribbean Film Corner" (Caribbean Film festival which is part of the Portobello Film Festival) I focus on finding and promoting young talented filmmakers, actors, DoP's etc from all over the Caribbean and it's diaspora (english, french, spanish & dutch speaking). After the festival I support them with their productions so that they can continue making quality films fit for an international audience as well as assist them in promoting themselves and their work on the International stage (at Cannes, the Berlinale, Mipcom, Mipdoc, and the AFM).
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Best Regards
