About me
My skills and experience cover a broad range of the technical requirements for audio and video operations. These skills and further experience encompass fields such as live sound including setting up stages and sound desks for bands, web technologies involving the use of HTML, JavaScript and PHP, numerous studio gallery operations, and more synthetic audio based work.I have operated a variety of sound desks (both analogue and digital) and audio equipment. In university, I was tasked to complete Foley work and create a radio drama in groups. For these projects, a mix of location and studio recordings were executed. Location recording involved the use of portable recorders such as an Edirol/Roland R-44, a Zoom H5, and a Zoom H4n were all used. Boom poles were used in these recordings as well as a lot of my short film work, often operated by myself.
My professional camera experience covers shoots such as interviews, lectures, theatre productions, sports, and more. I worked on University TV productions, such as the Quays Sessions, which involves a roster of performing bands, such as The Hoosiers. In the studios/galleries, I have operated the Ion lighting console, performed camera operation, camera racking and engineer duties, and sound set ups and mixing. These are great opportunities, allowing me to work as part of a professionally motivated team.
In my spare time, I have also operated sound at local charity events and rig the microphones (often SM57 and SM58s). I have had time in recording studios setting micing and recording a range of instruments and people with a collection of microphones. I also attempt to enrich the resulting sound experimenting with techniques I read about, such as bringing wooden panels to the studio for a violin recording to defuse the sound more efficiently.
I also have experience with much of the Adobe Suite (including Audition), DaVinchi Resolve and animation software such as Maya. I am certified for Avid Pro Tools 110 and Media Composer 110. I also possess a full clean UK driver’s licence.
Additional information:
As a highly-motivated individual, I devote my time and energy to whatever tasks need completing. With experience in filming and editing live events, interviews, and various factual and fictional works, I am eager to learn more and strive to better my skills, knowledge, and experience. I have always believed that audio often goes underappreciated in many media forms and so I have used a variety of sound equipment to achieve the best result. In my spare time, I enjoy developing short videos, reading and writing, as well as keeping up to date with the industry and its advances.
