About me
A graduate of the USC School of Cinema-Television, Ryan Maples’ production credits include American Express, Brother International, Dole Foods, Disney, Restoration Hardware and many others.Maples has won awards for both his narrative shorts and branded work. His short comedy film, Indestructible, played the festival circuit winning the audience award at the Dam Short Film Festival. In 2011 he was a finalist in the Nokia & Vimeo filmmaking challenge where his work premiered at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
Maples won several international awards for his spec commercial work, including a 1st place winner for Cannes Lions for AT&T. In 2013, Maples was the winner of an international short film competition sponsored and funded by Coca-Cola Zero with his work Saturday Night Zero premiering at Cannes Lions.
In commercial and branded content, Maples has directed documentary style spots for large brands including spots for American Express and a multi-part series for Restoration Hardware.
Maples, an avid music fan, co-directed and produced a feature length documentary, Pass the Music chronicling the Los Angeles indie music scene circa removed .
In 2016, Maples was hired as a director for the documentary TV series, "Undrafted", on the NFL Network, profiling players trying to make the NFL. The season went on to be nominated for an Emmy.
