About me
I currently work as a Master Control Operator for News 12 Long Island. I have pervious experience as an AEA Stage Manager and also as a props master.Additional information:
As a Level III Master Control Operator, I troubleshoot when station goes to black and am successful in getting the station back on air in a timely manner. I train potential freelancers and my supervisors look to me to answer other operator’s questions and help with their problems when they are absent. My supervisors also have me help come up with new procedures and make sure the other operators understand them. I run back-up tapes, make sure information bar is on air and correct, closely monitor audio and video to maintain appropriate levels. I FTP shows into our servers, keep track of commercials, keep in contact with fellow operators and managers, and manage playlists as well. I also have director training.
As a Stage Manager for a number of plays and musicals for production companies, off-broadway and regional theaters in New York City and Connecticut, including: Primary Stages; Women’s Expressive Theater; The Long Wharf Theater and the Westport Country Playhouse. I have been in charge of casts varying in sizes from 3 to 19. I have been responsible for calling shows; making sure that rehearsals and live performances went as flawlessly as possible, and ensuring that lines of communication between the designers and director stayed open. Qualified for and became a member of the Actor’s Equity Association, as a union Stage Manager, in April 2007. As a successful Stage Manager, I have had to continually demonstrate my ability to prepare and lead casts and crews in the delivery of performances that are on time, on cue and as accurate as possible. Mistakes must be minimized and those that do occur during a performance must be dealt with on the spot and in an inconspicuous fashion. I believe that many of the skills and abilities I have developed through this experience translate well to television production and, when coupled with my prior education and experience, will help to make me a valuable contributor in this field.
