About me
Théo Nogueira was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and started learning music at the age of seven at the oldest boy's choir in the country, Canarinhos de Petrópolis.During this time, the Canarinhos Choir performed masterpieces of classical music, such as the Messiah by F. Handel, the Christmas Oratorio by J.S. Bach and Spem in Allium by Thomas Tallis for eight choirs with five different voices.
Théo took courses in choir and orchestral conducting, lyrical and choir singing in addition to piano, pipe organ, music theory and ear training. In 2003, he started to take lessons in harmony and flute at the Brazilian Conservatory of Music and in 2007 he became an Undergraduate student at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, to get his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Conducting. He also joined the Municipal Choir of Petropolis, first as a singer and later as Assistant Conductor, Accompanying Pianist, Arranger, and Producer until 2011.
Also in 2007, he was part of the First Season of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Petropolis as a Production Assistant. And in 2010 Theo wrote, produced, and performed the project "Coral Municipal Canta Clássicos do Rock," which was repeated in 2011. This concert won the Municipal Choir of Petrópolis the Maestro Guerra-Peixe Award of 2011.
Although he was getting his Bachelor’s Degree in Brazil, Théo decided to change directions and moved to San Francisco, California to get his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music and Sound for Visual Media at the Academy of Art University, graduating in May 2016.
In 2014, Theo started as a Composition, Orchestration and Music Production Intern at Strawberry Hill Music in the Bay Area, moving up to the position of Composer and Orchestrator and Studio Manager.

Artist Statement
As Shakespeare once said, "If music be the food of love, play on," I believe that music and sounds for visual media, such as film, TV series and video-games, are the food of all emotions, the power that moves the mechanisms of the human soul to connect to characters and stories. Thus, I do my best to achieve such level; complement an already beautiful piece of visuals into something that cannot be measured by words.
