About me
I am a very dedicated and passionate individual who has a strong interest in the scientific componants of dance, and working with dancers in order to get the best from their training through the use of physiological, psychological and nutrional interventions. Highlights
-
I have been dancing since the age of 6 in various styles including ballet, tap and freestyle. At age 9 I began competing in freestyle competitions all across the country. After a short break away from dance I then began to train as a teacher and in June 2009 I qualified as an Associate Teacher with the IDTA. I now have two and a half years of teaching experience with various age groups from children to adults.
After completing a BA (Hons) Degree at the University of Derby in Creative Expressive Therapies Dance, where I gained an understanding of the theraputic qualities that dance has to offer, I began to undertake a Masters degree in Dance Science at the University of Wolverhampton.
Skills learnt whilst completing the Msc Dance Science include working with dancers to aid training through the use of one on one performance profiling to establish their strengths and weakneses in order to implement interventions, dance psychology training methods such as goal setting and helping with performance anxiety and nutritional advice for optimal training.
I am interested in working independently with dancers individually or as part of a company or troupe in order to aid their training through the use of physiological, psychological and nutritional advice and interventions
