About me
I originally trained as an actor at Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama between 1983-86. Following many years of intermittent acting jobs interspersed with corporate appointments, I decided to define and follow a new path. I studied with the Open University for a BA Hons in English Literature between 2009 - 2016, followed by an MA in Creative Writing (Script) which I completed in October 2018. Alongside these courses I have worked on writing, creating and directing small-scale touring pieces aimed primarily at rural audiences. Now that I have completed my studies and directed a number of successful productions, I am seeking further work in the wider theatrical community. I am available as a director or writer or both. I am able to write original pieces from a brief or through workshops/improvisations. As a director, I believe that good theatre is created through effective collaboration, a shared understanding of the content, aims and purpose of the piece and an honesty of performance brought about by clarity of character and objectives. I am very flexible in my approach and happy to discuss projects that would involve using all or some of my skills and experience.Additional skills:
Drama coach for adults - acting and script interpretation classes.
Drama workshops for adults with learning difficulties.
