About me
It is hard not to have an appreciation for the art of sewing and costuming when, to a point, it is embedded in you, from family history to cultural background. Growing up, I was engulfed by the world of traditional weaving, cross stitching, patterns, gowns, and headdresses. Due to finding my passion, I studied Entertainment, Design and Technology with a concentration in costume design. I spent the better part of my 3 and a half years in school stitching, serging, cutting, assembling pieces with direction, perfecting makeup and prosthetic application, learning wig setting, and even creating head-pieces and masks while learning about all the different, fascinating materials used in the theatre world. I have acted as a crew member, costume shop worker, assistant costume designer and have a working knowledge of various other forms of technical theatre. I am now looking to sharpen pre-existing skills, grow as an industry professional, and form meaningful, professional connections.Additional skills:
Stitching, serging
Intermediate autoCAD
Illustrator/photoshop
Cutting
Design
Wardrobe
Run crew
Makeup application
Prosthetic application
