About me
I am a hard-working, dedicated and enthusiastic recent graduate, with a First Class BA(Hons) in Production Design for Stage and Screen. I have always been interested in art and the creative industries, and regular theatre visits growing up inspired me to pursue a career in this area. I am a responsible and pro-active worker, able to interact and work well as part of a team or individually. I am highly motivated and can’t imagine working a ‘standard’ 9 to 5 and I will always put in the extra effort to finish a project to the best of my ability and to the client’s – and my own – high standards. My skill-set includes prop making, scenic painting, puppet making and set design, however I am happy to get involved in all areas of a creative project and will turn my hand to anything when required. I want to learn new skills to progress my career and will put in the time to improve myself so that a project can reach its full potential. I have completed several work experience placements in high-profile companies, and these have taught me professional skills and techniques as well as codes of conduct. I am always looking for ways to improve myself and my skill-set and I am always eager to learn.Although my skill-set lies mainly with physical construction and production, I am also interested in stage management and assistant positions. I find it satisfying to organise and plan ahead so that a job can be completed smoothly and efficiently, however I am not afraid to make decisions and multi-task when necessary, especially with deadlines and time-constraints. As well as this, my background in theatre design and production means that I understand how theatrical performances work and I will be able to adapt tasks around this previous knowledge and experience.
