About me
removed
I am a Set Designer, Builder, Carpenter, Sculptor, Rigger and Audio Visual Technician who has a lot of experience of working very flexibly, and to very tight time and budget constraints, to produce one off shows at various locations.
I am a very hard working, can do person, who relishes a challenge, and testing myself to achieve under demanding situations. I enjoy to and am good at thinking on my feet, at using my initiative to problem solve and relish the sense of pride that comes from seeing a job done well, or a show succeed under mine or the teams own hard work.
In my various works experinece since graduating from Wimbledon college of art with a BA(hons) in Fine Art Sculpture, I have gone on to work on many various set build and technical roles, encompasing the various titles mentioned above. I have vast experience of rigging audio visual systems in night clubs and events, in the electrical and software systems these use, and their application and maintenace. I am also a skilled builder/carpenter, who can turn his hand to building almost anything, from design to use, and really enjoying getting an idea and turning this into a reality.
Most importantly, I have worked for a year as Lead Set Builder/Designer/Rigger for the band The Irrepressibles, on their summer 2009 shows. For these shows we had to design and build a 6x6x6m stage set, (photos attached in CV) for shows at the V&A Museum London, and Latitude Festival. As Lead Set Builder it was my responsibility to approve designs, lead discussions between the 27 members of production crew, liase with industry professionals, liase with the organisations we were working with and to manage all time scales and budgets in order to produce a fantastic show, on time and on budget.
I deeply enjoy being given a challenge, and thrive under positions of responsibility. I relish being given a challenging brief or design, and pushing this through to completion, and the pride and satisfaction that comes from seeing and crowd and performers enjoy their surroundings.
