Theatre Technician
My responsibilities include; the organisation, maintenance, including PAT Testing, and servicing of all stage electrics, sound and A/V equipment as required for productions and teaching within the Drama and Music departments. My role also entailed the preparation and provision of equipment, on all college productions, as well as for visiting companies and organisations, this including rigging and operation if required. Supervision of students engaged in stage electrics, sound, A/V and rigging work with regard to current College working practices.

When I first started this job my tasks included both administration and practical responsibilities within the unit; Preparation of equipment in compliance with all health and safety standards; PAT testing; Driving and distribution; Client liaison and personnel skills. I was then promoted to the technical installations department, where my responsibilities increased to the electrical installation in a variety of small and large scale venues, as well as working within the production crew of events such as the Hay-on-Wye Festival, Brecon Jazz and Cardiff's New Year Celebrations.
