thats right folks, I am putting forward an idea that maybe part of this site could add dating to it.
the reason
who know actors better than other actors
and yes I am putting myself up and forward to say I am single , I am looking for Miss right or as close as we can get because
life is to short to go through the chase the list of many , many women
so come on lets have your thoughts on this suject
have i gone to far? i am some sort of nut?
Editorial Comment We'd prefer to keep dating from table and for CCP to be a professional site for actors. That said, the networking side really seems to be taking off and the green room's buzzing. We'll look into doing another social event (we had our first one just before Christmas, which was very popular... if somewhat crowded!).
As it happens, we do run a dating site: SnogLondon.com and any members of CCP are welcome to join, create a profile and we'll give you free membership.

You're also welcome to pass this offer on to non-CCP members: www.snoglondon.com/valentine
Surely that is just down to the circles in which you move...
I think its very hard to pigeon hole people depending on what they do - incidently how many actors on here would have once introduced themselves as being from another occupation?
Surely it comes down to what the person is like rather than what they spend their time doing when they work. I agree that acting has its odd little twists, but a relationship survives on many things, not just professional circumstance. Furthermore, if everyone in the profession were alike then it would be mighty hard to get work. This industry bases itself on the fact that different roles require people with different abilities, looks, personalities etc. Variety is, as they say, quite spicey, especially when you're talking about life!
I think maybe I'm doomed to singledom myself. It was hard enough to keep a relationship on track before, and it's even harder now. The uncertainty of this profession seems to infect everything in our lives (or more specifically mine), and it's hard to shake that funk. That's one reason why dating a fellow professional can be very hard, and it's also the reason why dating someone 'normal' can be nigh on impossible. I suppose it's just a matter of finding someone compatible. So to that end, I go on lots of dates. Not in a seedy 'macho man' kinda sense, but you never know who you'll meet, and you might just meet that right one that gives you the perfect balance between work and life in general. Anyway, hopefully the search nears its end, at least for the time being. Hurray!!! Nick
so when is the next event? I'd like a chance to meet some more people (*ahem* in a non-dating way) from on here before you all start thinking I'm a cat-loving wierdo who sits at home moping like Miss Haversham...lol!
its nice to switch from work and chat about something else for a change. hehehehe
seriously i can see some matchmaking being done in front of our eyes on this forum!
hope theres a social event soon for ccp members, i love meeting new people, itd be fun to meet the people u end up posting to all the time on here etc!
It's cool that castingcall have such a relaxed green room. I agree that networking events run by castingcall would be a great idea. It's always good to meet other actors - romance aside;).
lol. i didnt realise there were so many frustrated actors on here. Made for good reading though. Hey - are u southerners going to invite scottish to the CCP get together this time? lol
Id love to go to the next ccp night out and Im Scottish so I hope we get an invite!! Or perhaps all the southerners want an invite up to Scotland for a proper knees up! Iona x
Another event would be quite good, got to the first one a bit later than everyone else, and the free bar had definately been put to good use! Did get to meet Forbes though which was pretty cool, and put personalities and voices to faces. Was a bit odd though to see all those profiles and green room posters in person. Something slightly voyeuristic about it all. Anyway, roll on the next one, I'll be there bright and early with bells on!!! Nick
I'm in the same boat, Mark....Not logged on for a few hours and find out that I missed Lewis taking Rebecca up to aisle (matron).....
I'm never, ever leaving CCP for that long again. I'm turning down all job offers to remain plonked in front of the PC all day. You can't afford to blink or you miss something.
