About me
DAN DE LA MOTTE is an actor/performer, host/compere and producer/curator, specialising in comedic performance and Queer heritage. Recent performance credits include: On Railton Road (Brixton Base), HOT MEAT (House of International Theatre Queer Theatre Festival in Copenhagen) Molly's Masquerade Winter, Spring & Summer Balls (St Margaret's House), Live To Tell: A Proposal For The Madonna Jukebox Musical (filmed as digital theatre at Battersea Arts Centre and performed at Pulse Festival, New Wolsey Theatre and as a Live Draft at the Yard Theatre), The Hound of the Baskervilles (Abney Park - Offie Award Nominated), Fine and Dandy (King’s Head Theatre, Arcola Theatre).Dan is a touring comedian, and an alumnus of Soho Theatre’s Cabaret & Drag and Comedy Plus Labs, most recently taking his work to the Lancashire Fringe Festival, Camden People’s Theatre, Museum of London and more regularly at the Glory in east London and Arcola Theatre, where he is a member of their Queer Collective.
Dan is a tour-guide, facilitator and host with Queer Tours of London, and is a producer and curator of performance and live art; producing the nationwide tour of Bird la Bird’s Queer People’s History Show and the London Theatre Consortium Artist Climate Labs. He is a Creative Climate Leader with Julie’s Bicycle, and writes and gives talks on the role theatre and live art can play in tackling the Climate Crisis.
Dan is also the host of Off Book, the Young Vic’s podcast. Dan is a Resident Progression Artist at the Tramshed in Woolwich. @Dandelamotte
